Not exactly. ;) He wants you to have an idea of what you're trying to do, might be closer. Then he can help you get there.

So what if you have no clue what you are trying to do beyond taking a picture that you really like??? hahaha. I don't think I've ever taking a picture with a purpose in mind... except to capture what I see. I must be like a pre-schooler who draws for the sheer pleasure of it! hahahaha :big grin::goodvibes::sun:

honestly though with animals I find that I don't always get the chance to seee or put a meaning to my shots - you just have to try shooting and see what you get out at the other end (Since they don't always hang around and pose for you to compose the shot).
Experiences and getting quicker with the gear (as well as getting a camera with faster AF) would probably help increase the amount of composition thinking one can do before shooter - as can hides and feeding stations where one can get some limited control on the scene and subject.
But I think I might have a shot for him....... least it can't hurt to try :)

Toss it out there and see what Hertz gives you. Critique is meant to be taken as a learning tool.

If you take a picture because you like what the viewfinder is showing you, and you'd still like a more in-depth crit, then offer that reason up. The point is to mainly show what you've done and what you were trying to achieve (along with some other criteria of submission).

Just remember your post doesn't show in that forum until he logs back in and accepts it. Just a way for him to take them one at a time. :sun:

That said, I do enjoy reading his critiques. I hope more members submit a picture in there. There is always more to an image than you think at first glance, and he does a wonderful job of making you see more. :thumbup:

must admit he has got me thinking more as well (as opposed to just snapping) though at the moment I think I am reading into my current work more than thinking about creating new work (ergo I need to get off my bum and go shoot something ;))
