This little one has been hanging around the yard for a while now. It's still really little. I can't wait for it to turn green!

I'd say about an 1 1/2 inches at most. He's in some small gravel in that picture.

you have those in the garden? Thats the grooviest thing ever. I just love how the mantis looks. I always go looking for them in the butterfly exhibit in the zoo, cause thats the closest i can get to them. They arent supossed to be in the exhibit, but they hitch rides on the plants they plant there. But they eat butterflies too, so they have to go ASAP.
Anyways, good pic. Focus is on the eye and i really like the fact that it blends with the background a bit.

I do like his colours, though I would like to see a little more depth to the shot myself, just to bring him out just a little more from the background.
Good luck catching him when he goes green and hope to see some shots of him then!

Yes, he is in my garden. My garden is mostly gravel and cacti, so not too many places for him to hide once he is green!
Thanks Daan!

Thanks Overread! I had the hardest time photographing him. I hope I'll be able to get better shots when he gets a little bigger.
