I was able to escape the desert and make a little trip to the ocean last weekend. This is one of my favorite places in San Diego.

That is beautiful! I love the clouds and clifs converging at the vanishing point. The color is warm as toast! Nice!

nice background and some interesting structure in the foreground.

quite wide angle... are we almost looking straight down in the foreground? I feel like tipping over.

do you also have examples of this shot from a lower viewpoint with the same focal length?

I too like how the angle and the clouds lead my eye through and into the shot. And what a gorgeous scene it depicts. Nicely done! The clear water in the tide pools, and the layers of the cliffs, really grab me

(Is the horizon just a scosh tilted to the right? Or is it me?)

Thanks Alex! I'll have to take another look at what I shot. I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks Anty! The horizon is a bit tilted - I'll fix it!

I really like the texture and colors in the foreground. You feel like you could walk right into this scene. Good stuff!

I've looked at this like a ton of times & there's something you might want to consider doing... it will still be a great picture, too! Try cropping the bottom off til the picture is as close to a perfect square as you can get it. It will really pull you into the picture and totally focus you on that great convergence!

Thanks PhotoJet! I just opened the file to straighten it, so I'll try a crop too. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks again Karissa! I wish I had been on vacation when I took it!

...and I agree with Jeanette’s assessment. A Square crop really does it for me. Just a stunning view.

I've played with it just rolling it onscreen to a square, and I think it's a tad stronger squared off, too.

That said...it's such a beautiful shot, it works either way. :)

Thanks Terri! I think I'll print this one in the 8x10 crop.

it is strange, when i started with digital, I hated 8x10as a format, but since I do digital, I start to like 8x10 for portrait-oriented shots again .... ;)
