Well, i had a little tiny adventure with the new camera in the garden and made some quick pics. They didnt turn out to good, but they are good for now. There was some wind, which doesnt help when shooting macro and im still getting used to the 50D. But sofar im really happy with it :)
Here are some shots:

It looks like you are doing well with the new camera! I love the second photograph.

Hey, for a quick step into the garden to play with the new camera, I'd be very happy with these. :D These critters just about stop and pose for you.

I really like the last image - that tiny little bug above the caterpillar.

Good stuff.

Very nice, particularly the first shot. I'm surprised to see the dove (pigeon?) photographed with a macro lens, though.

It was a very small dove. :biglaugh:

Daan, very nice work.

psst Daan - I think one of those is a bird not a bug ;)
Good shooting and it looks like your getting the hang of your new camera well - shot 3 is showing a fair bit of overexposure though in the highlights so that might be something to watch out for - from what I know most camera meters need to have a breaking in period as you get used to what they expose for since things change a bit model to model. Good luck though :)

I could only wish that they posed for me. I have to get shots from weird angles alot......probably because the models dont get paid.
And that last bug isnt a caterpiller but a ladybug larva. So that tiny little bug is playing with his life, since its on the larva's menu :)

Well, it was in the neighbourhood and just popped out :)
Actually that dove (or pigeon, havent got a clue what the difference is) comes to our garden everyday. My mother can almost handfeed it now. So its pretty much at ease when its in our garden......and i could get a shot of it :)

yup, its kinda different when it comes to exposure and stuff. I have to use other settings with PP too. Usually i could use the same numbers when i was PP-ing macro shots. Now i have to look for a new way to PP so i can get the shots to look the way i like best again. Always a good thing to experiment.
Thanks for the kind words :)
