farewell party

These are the images that Brad had mentioned in another thread.

Last year, our son got a bee in his bonnet about joining the Marines. The night before he was set to head off for boot camp, we threw a small farewell party with only family and a few close friends.

It ended up not happening (long story, but we weren't unhappy about it) ;) but at the time these were taken, it seemed quite the done deal. He was very nervous and rather brooding. It was an outside barbeque and the light started to fade, so I ran about trying to capture a few of those moments. He thought he was a toughas$ Marine but to us, he just looked quite vulnerable.

Not that we'd ever tell him. :razz:
