How pretty they are in bloom!
Is it a rare thing to happen or does it happen every year? I can see the bees on the blossoms ... would there even exist something like "cactus honey"???

LaFoto, most of the cacti bloom every year. That photo is of the saguaro--the big, tall one with arms. Bees like them but I don't know anything about bees.

Thanks, Rene. The second shot looks as if it's of a dead cactus, but it's the same cactus as the first shot, just lower down.
This flower was about thirteen feet off the ground. I had to go up a slope until it was at eye level, then use a telephoto.

Beautiful! Nice job on finding a slope to shoot them from. I really like the second one!
