I agree that #4 is the best of these. It's a great photo! :)

There's something about 1 & 2 that just turns me off... they look aritificial somehow... like the flower in #1 was sort of pasted in or something. And there is some sort of strangeness about the flower in #2, too.
It must be my roots in film photography that keep me from liking the more... shall we say... "creative" photo treatments. ;)

Another vote for #4! I'm not wild about the border on it.

Image 4 really seems the strongest to me. The composition is pretty good and the colors are nice and vibrant.

Thank you....I like it best too!!

I really like the minimalist approach in number one but I think there's too much empty space around the flower. Perhaps you could accomplish the same lonely feeling with a smaller crop?

Will have to work on that one!! I actually tried it in colour, and I like I like it better than the sepia.....it does look a bit ummm..."fake"!! LOL!! But I swear, I didn't "PhotoChop" it in....I don't even have PhotoShop!!!

2 and 3 seem to make use of "technically correct" compositions (rule of thirds in each case) but each seems to have needed something else. The current composition makes the subject a little boring and, as no subject is hopelessly boring, you may be able to jazz them up by trying some different compositions if you can.

I wouldn't be afraid, at all, to enter these in a beginner's competition. Unless you're up against some pretty darn good beginners I'd say you should stand a pretty good chance of being noticed.

Thank you so much for your feedback!!

Yeah...I hear ya. #1 was definately not pasted in, but it does look artificial.

I actually like #2....but maybe the whole picture is too 'yellow'????

Thank you for your feedback!!!
