After 7 faithful years, my old PC finally bit the dust and we had to break down and purchase a new one. I was concerned more about my ancillary equipment not working with the 64-bit Windows 7. I found drivers I could download for my aging Epson 2200 printer, but the Epson 2450 scanner is officially toast. It's not going to work.

So, I won't be posting any new work (aside from digi snaps, which I don't call "work") until I get a new scanner.

I'd like one that has not only a nice-sized flatbed, but one that can accommodate various film formats, too.

Anyone have any recent experience with a scanner purchase they'd care to share? I've not begun to look, but will need to soon!

I have always used Epson's and have been very happy with them. I currently use a V500 for scanning slides, negatives, prints, etc. It does what I need it to do and didn't cost an arm and leg.

I had this issue with my UMAX 1100 flatbed. It is an outstanding scanner, but no 64 bit drivers are available. I wound up keeping my old Mac G4 tower just for the scanner.

Thanks, guys. I'm not likely to hang on to my old tower just to keep the scanner....space issues, mainly. :)

I do like Epson products. No complaints with my 2200 printer, and I'm really thankful I could get the drivers for it. I think I'll take a look at this V500 scanner model and see how it looks for me. I can't go too long without being able to scan!!

Thanks for the feedback!
