I took this on our way out of Albuquerque this summer. I loved the way the clouds were creeping over the crest.

Hello Tangerini,

Beautiful...I have grown to love the Southwest USA and try to get out that way at every opportunity. I’ve vowed that this summer, I will run more color slide film thru my camera than years past.

I will try and find a couple of my Bryce Canyon/Zion shots and post them soon.

Cheers,
Brad

Those 'wrinkles'* on the hillside, with the shadows they make, add a lot of interest to the shot too. And is that snow on the top of the distant peak? What a gorgeous sight you captured in this image!

(*There must be a better word than 'wrinkles', but it escapes me at the moment)

Very dramatic capture, Tangerini. Just love those "wild west" big skies over these barren hills - wow!

Heehee, I knew there was an easy word for it, but my brain was fried yesterday and I just couldn't think of it!

Heehee wrinkles/ridges.. I know what you mean. Yes it is snow on the crest, not completely uncommon, but I especially liked the powdered dusting look in comparison to the rest of the scenery. :)

Thank you all for your kind comments.

Hmm, I can't see it now either, and it's not showing in Rolleimaniac's quote of Tangerini's post. Yet I was able to see it on the forum homepage earlier today. http://www.pcosmommies.com/forums/images/smilies/KSmilies/scratchhead.gif

Me, too...and now, there's no "red x" or anything to indicate something was posted...it's just empty space.

 An odd one.

Nice! I also love the shadows clouds put over things in the vast West. Like playing peek a boo!

Hey, I can see it now :)

The clouds are really nice!

Never been to Albuquerque, although our company builds a fab there.
