Does this pic tie in a little better with my screenname? (Excuse the quality...it's a scan of a photograph)

Well now! I cute little guy (or gal) at that. Also, you don't have to worry about that whole food chain thing either.

Yes, it's a King Penguin! The shot was taken at Salisbury Plain, South Georgia I believe.
Sure, break out the magellanic and rockhopper pics! I'd love to see them

Okay, so we have a King Penguin and now a "chinstrap"...? And Ann is mentioning "rockhoppers".... Just how many different kinds of penguins are there?
:realizes this type of question is dangerous to put to Anty:

Oooo, I missed Terri's last post! There are 17 species, of which I've seen 10 (8 in the wild). I have film pics of a few more species....somewhere. When I come across them, I'll post some more shots.

These are wonderful shots! I can't help but to imagine how cold it must be there. We love penguins in our household. My children are fascinated by them and the many species.

I'd love to see them! I think most people are fascinated by the little critters.
I can call them critters without incurring your wrath, right?
