I remember a thread on TPF about cliches. Some people indicated they were very tired of flower shots. Not me. If I ever get that way, bury me promptly.

This was taken a couple of days ago in our backyard. The backyard offers various things to see throughout the year but this was what it was offering a couple of days ago. It's not a great or memorable photo. The iris was beautiful, though. It deserves a photograph. The photograph is not art. It communicates nothing other than what this iris was a couple of days ago. That's enough. After a few of you look (thank you), it can fade into cyber-oblivion.

Another nice garden.... I wish I had a green thumb! Thanks for sharing that moment in time with us.

Irises are gorgeous flowers! Our gardens here were unfortuneately covered with snow today! But that's ok, because we do not really have any flowers yet anyway! hahaha

So thanks for posting this beauty! ;)

Oh, that's one of those HUGE irises too, isn't it? Such a pretty colour, with further splashes of colour visible in the background.

(I agree, nice garden!)

Great shot.

And regarding cliches, I think one of the reasons many of us are here might be to avoid that point of view of, 'been there, seen that.'

And you know, without flowers, we'd be back in the Triassic! :-)
