Certainly do not want to get political here, but the title fits to the image, I'll get there eventually.
I had the great opportunity to visit my favorite local radio station this evening. I am a "sustainable" member, which means that a certain amount of money is debited from my credit card each month. Here's the funny story, if you have a moment.......
This past Friday I was listening/streaming on-line to this station. I have been a contributor for the past few years, but last year I decided to increase my contribution substantially in the Fall fund raiser. I heard the call for the fund raiser on Friday and thought my year was up and it was time to renew. (Mind you that it's not out of character to crack open a bottle of tequila on a Friday night if staying home) hehehe.... I received a call from the station the next day to try and figure out what the hell I was on about. :biglaugh: I had increased my contribution, but my previous time period had not run out yet. We went back and forth to make sense of my promisory.
Okay, back to ground zero. So there was a little members party at the station today.... along with a BBQ throwdown. The main DJ (for me) is Stan the Bar-B-Que Man on Fridays and Sundays, along with Ken on Thursday nights. It was a feast for downhome Southern boys there. There was pork BBQ, brunswick stew, cole slaw, potato salad, cornbread, sweet tea, chocolate cake, blueberry pie and OHhh , pecan pie..... and blues to blister you. There was a local in-studio duo that was cooking on propane as hot as they were on acoustic blues.
So anyway, I was the only one with a camera and I sheepishly took a few shots throughout the event. I took the following shot of Stan through a safety glass window of the studio door. I did not notice the signs until I got home. Although this radio station is affiliated with NPR for top-of-the-hour-headlines.... I think the sign in the window speaks volumes for these people. The station is on the campus of Shaw University... a historically black college. And yes, he had a boo-boo on his head.

Hopefully, I'll get a couple more shots later, but I like this image.
