the light was not good and this was a close to the water as i could get as i was on a very large ship and they didn't lower passengers to the water as might a smaller vessel.

It's a beautiful shot that stirs up many pleasant memories for me! You've nicely captured the cycle of a glacier, with the buildup coming down the hill, gathering at the shore before (eventually) calving or breaking off into the icy water.

Were you lucky enough to see any parts of the glacier breaking off? It sounds like thunder.
