:( It would appear that what has to be my favorite M-42 camera is reaching retirement. The gears in the film advance seem to be letting go and it's intermittantly not advancing properly. It's ashame, it'll be the best looking camera I have that does not work :(
The camera as it is right now.

No chance to get it repaired? At all?

Darn. But maybe a fellow film shooter from this forum has some suggestions on things to try, to either fix it or jerry-rig it so you can keep shooting.

Yes, by all means - Mitica! Do you think a decent camera repair shop could help with film advance for this little guy?

I rather doubt you will be able to get someone to repair it economically. it's to bad as your camera is in tremendous shape. I would suggest possibly picking up another one from eBay or a swap meet.

It would definitely cost more to get it repaired rather than getting a 'new' one from you know where. Bummer, looks almost mint.

That's a heart-breaker, looks almost new.

Yeah, that camera has been in my possession for a few years now and was all ways my "Go To" for M-42 lenses. I never really cared for the Pentax h2 I have and all the other M-42 bodies I have were not functional when they came to me, this'll be a loss. I might have to consider picking one up from E-bay and seeing if I can tear it down and reassemble it properly and possibly repair this one my self if I find I am successful.

The market value of a used Chinon CS body is under $5. In the Ebay completed auctions one went for $3 and another for $0.99. With 3 or 4 lenses they were going for $20 to $30.
