Not sure if this counts as proper Alternative Technique so please feel free to move mods if you feel it doesn't properly meet the cirteria.

Efke ir820 film + Holga + Hoya r72 filter. 2-4s exposure. Stand developed in Rodinal 1+100 for 2 hours. I've still no access to a darkroom (or scanner) so the negative was shot on my 30D. I've lightly tinted it in photoshop. My intention with this image is to lith print it and tone it. Back in the darkroom next week so I'll repost when I'm done.

OHH Please gold tone it after you lith print it. The blues would look great!

Thanks very much peeps :)

That's exactly what I was going to do! There's also a split tone in Tim's book where he gets some pinkish highlights. I can't remember what it was but I want to do that too :)

Beautiful work! It's like a dream - wow!

You are going to have so much fun with this negative. Love the gold tone idea. So many possibilities!

Do you know what paper will you be using? I think there is a section in Tim's book about using regular Ilford warm tone paper, with normal processing, then a bleach-back technique (partial bleach, retaining the blacks) and a redevelopment in lith that gives a great split with the pinkish tones you mentioned.

Like you, I seem to recall this stuff in Tim's book, but would have to look it up for specifics. :) My issue with lith these days is trying to get a decent paper! We've lost the Forte, Fotospeed, and Kentmere - among the best.

*sniffle*

Great work!

I've got some Ilford warm tone and Fomatone 132. Was going to also get some Foma Variant 123, which I believe gives a colder images with lith developer.

The image I was thinking of in Tim's book was the Gondola one which he printed on (the now discontinued) Kentmere that gives pink tones, and Selenium toned. I think I'll get some gold and selenium toners and see how they react with all the different papers. Will be a good experiment for my first toning session. Won't be for a couple of weeks though as I've got quite a few negs that I want some 'straight' prints doing first. Can't wait!

Yep - I know exactly which image you're talking about. I'm excited for you, really - looking forward to seeing your results and hearing all about it.

I have toyed with the idea of getting some gold toner but just haven't made the leap. :)

Hope it all goes well - have a blast!
