Here's a couple of photos that were taken with, gasp...something other than my Rolleiflex!
The Agfa Isolette which was used has become a real favorite of mine; it's simply a work of art in its own right. Both shots recorded on Efke IR and developed in Rodinal 1:50.

I just love the contrast on the second one. Looks like something I'd have framed and hung on a wall somewhere. So difficult to get black and white that fantastic with digital.

Hey Karissa,
The Albion is a terrific hotel and the location cannot be beat. Great pool area too…Some might complain of the traffic noise, and the smallish rooms, but if you’re doing what you SHOULD be doing when visiting South Beach then there should be no issue!

What filter did you use with that film? It was deeper than a #25, wasn't it? And what did you have to rate the Efke, again?
This film is probably going to be my replacement for Kodak's HIE, once the freezer is empty. I've not tried it personally, but it's hard to argue with such nice results.

Whoa, great result with the IR! It gives the palms a dreamlike quality in the first shot. But I especially like the second shot. So crisp.

Hey Antarctican- Yeah, that Solinar lens on the Super Isolette is something special...I'm a long way from settling in with the Efke- Every time I nail a filter/devo/ASA combo with a certain IR film, it either gets discontinued, or the emulsion formula changes.
BTW- I love the 'KAT' pictures...gives new meaning to the phrase 'shooting from the hip’ !! Hey, with you sporting the moniker 'Antarctican' I was expecting to open up your post and see pictures of Hoarfrost! There’s still time I suppose. [g]

Terri,
I rated the Efke a whopping ASA 1 - Think I bracketed down to .50 and maybe even lower...You will give the BULB setting a workout using this stuff. Oh yeah, the filter I used for these particular shots was a B+W 89b (092) - I'm also using an old Rollei Infrared filter these days as well.
The Efke, IMHO, will be the closest thing you'll find to HIE these days (results wise)

I wholeheartedly agree with Anty's comments about the dreamlike quality of the first. Both photos are lovely. :)

Those are just <sigh> lovely! I am so enamored of IR! VERY nice! I love the perspective on the hotel... it screams Art Deco! Nice eye!

I really like the second one! Maybe it is because I am very biased towards this kind of architecture.
It makes me curious though, what the bottom of the building looks like.

Hey Jeanette,
I hope you guys are doing well these days. Thanks for the kind words regarding the pictures. We're planning on furnishing our guest room one day with Art Deco furniture/photos. I too just love that style...
BTW-that little bottle you gave us is still resting comfortably. Think I'll give it another few months rest and pop it this fall.
Cheers!

Hey Alex,
Yeah, I would have loved to been able to back up some more to capture the whole thing; would have killed for a 50mm at that moment. Gosh, South Beach would be a blast to roam around with a 4x5/wide angle combo.
Cheers,
Brad

Glad y'all are doing OK- Keep swirling and shootin' ! Great Macro BTW. I have a close up attachment for my Rollei that I've never used. Time to break it out!

Lovely IR! I have not tried this film yet. If I ever get me some, I will probably have questions....
