Oh my, that player doesn't look like he's having much fun in that first shot ! I like how you captured the falling rain in that one. Of the action shots, the one of the goalie scooping the ball is my fave as it shows the rainfall, and I like the composition with him off to the side, with a bit of the net showing.

Were you under an umbrella or overhang, or were you protecting your camera from the rain somehow to get these?

I was wearing rain gear. Poor Tom was soaked. He wasn't even playing for his own team.

I was amazed that the rain showed so well. Shutter speed was probably around 1/2500 or higher.

I have to say that I am really taken by that first shot. It is a dandy in everything it says. Action shots are great, but they are kind of like having to be told "look what I am doing and feeling." The first shot, to me anyway, is one that truly typifies that a "picture is worth a thousand words." Nice!! :)

^^ I agree with Jeanette. No caption needed for that first shot - it stands very nicely as one of those "it has to happen sometime" kind of sports shots. Not a fun outing, win or lose. Very nice sports journalism. Great job.
