Ever heard the term "stiff as a board"? After a little while though, she began to have some fun. She just turned 14 last week. Both she and her mother were happy with the results, but what do you think?

The background was a window shade and dappled sunlight along with the window frame caused the color shifts to it.

I like #3, very natural look, good lighting, no shadows. Could've used a little more blur on the background. Very nice!

She doesn't look at all nervous, in fact she looks quite relaxed and natural. What a beautiful smile she has, too! For a more candid shot, I like that first one (the way her head is tilted back a bit as if with laughter), and for a more portrait-like shot I like the last one.

1- The focus seems off, but it definately looks more natural. The composition is a bit awkward though...not centered, not to the side...

2- Nice composition and shooting angle! Her left eye is a bit dark, specially when compared to the her right eye, as well as are the shadows in her hair. Maybe a fill light or reflector would of helped.

3- The best of the bunch, although the lighting is a bit too flat. I like some shadows and contrast. Her eyes are a bit too far to the side, I'd like to see some white in the short part of the eye. I also dont think the head is tilting in the right direction. Having her turn her head/chin slightly to the camera and down a bit might help with that.

Images 1 and 2 seem to have too much red in them. Her hair isn't the same tint as it is in the last one.

I would agree with bigtwinky that you have a little too much red/magenta in there. Maybe dial that down a notch for a more natual look.

I think she's a doll, and you caught some beautiful natural laughs and smiles here. Clearly she is trusting her photographer! :)

The best lighting is in the third. Not surprisingly, this is the one with the least magenta, too.

About the background: remember, even a bed sheet draped over a couple of floor lamps can make a nice, unobstrusive backdrop, just arrange it so you have some nice soft folds, then blur it with your DOF. Ultimately it be less instrusive than window blinds.
