All the best,

I've edited out the links, but there is no private message when I signed in or any member called 'forumcomrad' so I don't know if the site has been hacked and they have got our email addresses

Oh dear, another spammer managed to send out a PM to members. You're savvy enough to know to ignore it. But thanks for letting us know so we can ban 'im

That account was banned before this thread was started, but unfortunately it seems to have left a few traces. For anyone who thinks otherwise, there is nothing in vBulletin that does anything to check for viruses.

Sorry all, I should have realised that Andy's note was related to what arrived by email for most. There most definitely was a PM, but I'd cleaned the system out at around 05:30 UK time this morning before most would have been up and about. Unfortunately, I can't get into your email inboxes and clean anything out from there.

The best way you can prevent the email side of things happening is to turn off email notifications for private messages. No one has your email addresses, you'll find the that the email genuinely came from the TPB Admin mail account, but the message was long sent before I had any opportunity to deal with our spammer.
