Thanks for looking...

I like the 2nd one. :toast:

I'm wondering if the 3rd one wouldn't be better if it were not so 'contrast-y'.

They all seem to be slightly oversharpened, which is hard on the viewer's eyes... Themewise: good. Really - I like them. Red bricks are fascinating subjects because of their textures.
But your pp makes these photos almost vibrate and dance before my eyes, and my old eyes are not too fond of such sensations...

Guilty as charged on both counts! Seems like I can't find a balance in terms of contrast (my sin when converting into B&W is always the lack of contrast –but I went overboard on this one).

I'll rework the images and post them here later.

Thanks for the feedback!

I agree with Lafoto - bricks are interesting subject matters, with their colour and texture. I like these shots, but look forward with interest to your reworked images too

Thanks again everybody for the feedback. Here are the re-edited images. These new versions have close-to-zero sharpening.

2b (brown and white version this time :))

2bII (another brown and white option)

I like the tone of brown better in the last one, but I think there's not enough separation between the shutter and the brick...

Looking for C&C, if possible.

2A stands out to me as the best.... I like it a lot.

Much better! I like to tones in the first brown & the separation in the second as well. Sometimes when you de-contrast, you discover all kinds of hidden texture! It's a good thing! :)
Good eye on the shots, BTW! :) :toast:

Thanks very much, people.

I posted the updated versions on another forum as well (besides The Other Side) and people – curiously enough – preferred the original edits

Everyone already knows I'm crazy, but I really like the original version of 2a. I think the processing is well done with that one.

Yeah, I've heard about your craziness, but you're not alone in liking some of the original versions.

Lots of crazy people out there

I love the subject matter and usually I prefer black and white but in this case I like the color. It seems to lend itself better for this particular subject in my humble and not very expert opinion.
