So, a few shots I got before I got kicked out of the store for taking pictures.
The colours are nice and vibrant!... i'v actually done a similar job before for the local market and found that with so many objects in frame the focus can be a problem. Still, you got a nice variety here.

(Hmmm, they would all make really good projectiles. Was the market located near a political rally of some sort? Maybe that's why you got booted out.)
There's something about shots of market items that I really like. My fave of this series is the shot of the onions: the simplicity of the two colours, the way the white and red onions are arranged roughly on a diagonal, and the way the ones in focus are positioned just off of the centre, make it the most pleasing to my eye.
(Insert pun here about 'you can't compare apples to onions....')

I like the onions shot, as well as the new potatoes. mmm, full-frame veggie shots are always so appealing. YUM! :goodvibes:
One nitpik: can we have longer DOF next time? I'd like to see everything in focus, for comparison.

Haha, well.. don't think i'll get a next time.... see story about me getting kicked out (http://www.thephotobeat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=202#post202).
It was also a dark place. was shooting that with my 50mm at 1.8. Not sure I had to much flexibility. Maybe if I find an outdoor one on a warmer day I can change up the dof some.

I'd say then you did as best you could at 1.8. Maybe an outdoors farmer's market setting, they'd be more friendly? Your lighting would be better, too.

Yup, Farmer's market thing is what I'm hoping for.

Maybe if I find an outdoor one on a warmer day I can change up the dof some.Heehee, when a bunch of us had a meetup in Toronto, we went to one of the ethnic market areas in the downtown area, and the proprietor put his hand in front of the lenses of some of us, so we couldn't take pictures of the dried/dehydrated fish in the bin out on the sidewalk! I could not think of one good reason why he'd take issue with that!
