He looks poised to take off....did he? :)

I'm trying to decide of the flash is a bit too hot here, but nothing looks blown. I like the tiny catchlight in his eye.

An alert little guy, one of my favorite birds.

Yes, he took off right afterwards. No flash used -- natural (rather harsh) light...

Ian, you should come up to my house. I've got all kinds of birds in my yard. They are pretty tame and you can get pretty close to them.
