I don't have any images this precise moment (I'm in work), but I'm finding myself increasingly drawn to this type of stuff. Anyone else have anything they'd like to share?

One of these might give your new theme thread a kick off - maybe?

(Where there's one, there are many, many more but I won't bore you with them)

I love those coloured water bubble pics :)

I don't have any abstract pics either as yet ... not that I can think of anyway

I am never really sure if I do abstract, but I do things like this:

(posted elsewhere already ;) )

or this semi abstract:

I don't do much abstract stuff ... here's an old one:

I kind of lump in abstract and minimalism together. I consider abstract not just something that you can't tell what it is, but also interesting lines and shapes you see every day but at a different angle.

I love the second one, Chris. Maybe that's partly because I have no idea what I'm looking at.

You might consider cropping out the bisected bright thing on the right.

These were taken during a 2008 meet-up in Germany, in Bremen to be precise. It was part of a frieze across the front of a building there. The easiest way to explain is to quote LaFoto from elsewhere:

Ah, the town parliament building! Bremer Bürgerschaft it is called. Bremen is town and province (land) in one and has a local parliament like Lower Saxony has in Hanover, and Northrhine-Westphalia has in Düsseldorf, and Bavaria has in Munich, for example, and that parliament meets in that very building. The Old Town Hall (which we visited - and the visit INSIDE was a first to me, too, Anty!) now only is being used for representative functions. And the newer "Bürgerschaft" is the regular parliament today.

It's probably a little late to edit the second one after all this time, but I know what you mean.

Those are really cool Chris, very alien landscape looking!

It was Germany after all... :sexywink:

I guess I'm just dense, but I still don't get it. What the heck?? It looks like a metallic tree with regular limbs growing out, that have been lopped off by a groundskeeper. Very Alien, very cool, but just goes right over my head. What is it?? I must have missed something in the explanation.

It's just the decoration across the front of the building Corinna described. I don't think there's any more significance to it than that. Look just over the heads of the people on the right of this photo taken in Bremen (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3124/2610052057_1ffb7e15f2_o.jpg); that's the frieze I'm referring to.
