I took this photo last year at Hoover Dam, I thought it was pretty cool because you never see hydrants like this in Europe, well I haven't anyway ...

You never see them in Germany :(.
They're always below the surface and will only get pulled up when they're being needed... Little chance for me to find and photograph any ...

It's due to the fire-hydrant beetle. Very sad story.

I know, the first of the two photos has technical flaws, but I'm posting that one, too, to let you all enjoy the lovely German word which means nothing but fire hydrant. Isn't it short, sweet, and to the point? ;)
