Chris was kind enough to post his photo…

This was shot back in 1977 on Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia. I was in a pretty good funk at the time (19 years-old) and strangely enough it’s the only self portrait I’ve ever done.

In my best Eric Idel voice “but I got better” OR was that Michael Palin? Damn, that was a long time ago!

Interesting little piece of memorabilia there. I'd have been 15 going on 16 at the time. Lets just say I recognise the hairstyle and the glasses...

I was hoping that this thread would be the catalyst for additional introspective self portraits; guess not…Anyway, it seems that painters are more inclined to do this type of work than photographers or maybe that’s a misconception on my part.

The jail symbolism was exactly what I was going for in the picture; teenage angst on film, the best I could do at the time.

yep, I was 19 in that year also, but my hair was very close to the belt line. I wish I had some of my photos from back then (I think) for some introspection. Perhaps with the passage of time, the introspective selfs may have more substance now. Since I have no one else to photograph, maybe I can add something soon.
