Agreed. I have a gazillion heron pix because they just invite them ...

Neat shots, I love herons. When in NJ, have you ever checked out the Forsythe Wildlife refuge just off Rt 9 in Galloway township {near Smilthville}? Its an 8 mile drive thru loop -egrets, ibis, bald eagle, herons, sometimes if you're lucky you might see a fox, otters and turtles.

Nope, never been there. I'll have to look it up :)

I own a house in Little Egg Harbor (Ocean County) that I bought when I lived in Philly, so I get out there about once a year to check on things. I usually get a good sampling of herons, egrets, turtles, and ibis as well as osprey. Never saw an eagle there, though.

He was just hanging out in the pond outside the gym where my son had a gymnastics meet in Waikiki ...

Well he was just hanging out with a tremendous amount of attitude! and the fish look like they are slipping by behind his back (laughing?)

LOL yep. That must have been their laughing that I was hearing.

BTW, that image was shot with my old Nikon Coolpix L5 point and shoot, not with my dSLR.
