Sell Your Gear?

Have you ever been told that? A friend of a neighbor just told me I was a bad photographer and I should sell my gear! It was the nail in the coffin of my day. :redwine:

The "friend" of your neighbor has issues that have nothing to do with your photography skills, but more likely is own inadequacies in the field.

It's the time to have that comeback stuffed in your pocket and pull it out..... like.... oh, I don't know, maybe something on the order of..... "If I wanted your opinion I would .....*checks himself*

Thanks everyone! Yesterday was just one of those days. The neighbor's "friend" is a real jerk. I'm not so sure they will be friends with him anymore. The wife was pissed and went off on him. It was a scene!

a few years ago i had a very large show (over 100 images) and i was told by the curator that someone he knew was looking at the images and commented to his wife.
What is so special about this, i could have taken them

the curator responsed with, but you never would have thought to do so until you stood here now ( he knew the fellow)

I was a bit surprised he even shared the story and until i read this story i had basically set it aside.

everyone is always a "better" shooter ;)

my experince has lead me to this decison, if the mouth can't match the work, i turn a deaf ear.

Thanks again everyone! I love my camera and would never sell it. I was just so shocked that someone would say that to me. I've only had the camera a little over a year and I know I have a long way to go as a photographer, but come on. I would never say that to someone. As Karissa said, it's a hobby and who cares if I'm good or not.

Now back to more 'crappy' photos! :mrgreen:
