(If you find the intro very similar to the one on the other side, it's because it is :))

These are some of the street shots I took in Portland a couple of months ago. I found it to be a very walkable, tourist-friendly city (as long as you don't go to the historic district downtown). Its neighbourhoods each had a distinct personality, which made the experience one of discovery.

Hope you enjoy.

I like the book/record store shot. I think it would be interesting as a B&W conversion, too!

Whoa, I like the "No Parking" sign against the bare wall and wish I had more of an eye for such things!
But yes, also I like that record shop!
And the houses that look like doll's houses in a way. So colourful, and a little playful in their design. Stark colours!

I really must tune my eyes newly into photography these days, I feel like I have lost "the eye"... and must go into town, maybe, and OUT of this tiny village of mine.

So... uhm... who took the photos that you've been posting here on TPB? :)

Thanks PhotoJet and LaFoto for your comments!

I like this series. My fave shots are 4, 5 and 6. I echo Lafoto's comments that I wish I had more of an eye for shots such as #4. I love the colourful houses in 5 (and the cloud pattern really adds zip!), and the metal grate in 6 has a 3D effect I like. Good work!

The sky in #5 in contrast with the vivid color of the houses is sensational!

Thanks again Tangerini and anty! True, number 6 does have a 3·D effect (I'm sure I won't be able to duplicate it the next time, though :)).

Thanks MM! Number 1 is my favourite of this bunch.
