What sort of film does a Kodak Brownie take, and is it still available?

cheers

Yes, it does take 620 film. There's good news & bad news about that... the good news is that 620 film is the same exact size as 120 film which is widely available. The bad news is that 120 reels do not fit in the camera.
So... the 120 film must be re-spooled onto 620 reels. Here's a link!

:( that's a shame. I was considering getting one, just for a bit of fun, but all that fiddling about is a bit too much for me.

But wait... There's more!

You can get 620 already spooled on eBay. Just search for 620 film.

I have heard that sometime 120 reels may work in 620 cameras and that you just have to try it to be sure. Be careful.

I had some fun running some 620 through an old Kodak Duoflex a couple years back, and that camera was great fun and actually gave respectable results. I got the film through an online company that is now defunct (J&C) ...have not thought to search for pre-spooled through ebay.

 I love it ... it says Item condition: USED :)

Awfully pricey, if you ask me (especially once you count in that $6.95 shipping), for a used roll of film ....

Yeah, I know... But one can't sell unexposed film as new if it's been respooled. And yes, it's pricey. The alternative is much cheaper, roll your own on a 620 spool. ;)

No. You're doomed, actually.

Thanks for those links, Mitica and Jeff. The eBay seller is a mite out of touch....OTOH, B&H isn't too terribly bad for a lazy person like me. I had no idea they were doing this. Buy a few rolls and the five dollar shipping is more cost effective. Good to know I can get this so easily!! My Duoflex is fun to carry around.
