Well, not really "new". but I can say "new-to-me" anyway.

After 6 years of driving my beloved VW Beetle GLX turbo, I finally traded it in today. :sniffle: I loved that Bug. But since the doctor I work for sold his old practice and we moved last year, my drive in has been looong, and I wanted a larger car that handled highway miles comfortably.

So - I am now a happy owner of an Infinity G35 (http://www.infinitihelp.com/slider/images/gs.jpg)! It's not new, but a 2005 with reasonably low mileage, which made it very affordable.

Yay me. :cheer:

Thanks, Jeanette! Drat, that link is completely different now from the cool picture it used to be. :-x Anyway, I luv it!

Don't know when, but the moment will (have to) come when also I will need to start a thread like this one. But for the time being, I'm still enjoying my little 3-series BMW, although it IS getting old (and high in mileage). I had to take it to the car hospital the other day for a starter transplant, but that went well, and my little garage price their services nicely.

Congratulations to your new car, Terri.
So you now travel far to work?
How far's far? (Farther than "far" is in European standards, I am sure).

How far's far? (Farther than "far" is in European standards, I am sure).hee hee! Well, it's about a round trip of 60 miles a day. (What is that in kilometers??) It takes me about 45 minutes each way.

For 6 years, I drove a VW New Beetle, 1.8 litre turbo. Ah....my Bug. I zipped around town in that thing and loved it! But once my office moved a year ago, extending my drive, it soon became apparent I was going to beat myself to death in the tiny thing. Being on the highway surrounded by huge semi-tractor trailers was getting intimidating. It was also getting up there in mileage, so I thought to trade it in while it was still in excellent shape.

And I'm very happy with my G-ship.

That'd be roundabout 100kms round trip, i.e. 50kms one way, which is a fair drive. When Andreas still worked in Hamburg, he had to drive 60kms one way... Now that he works totally elsewhere, it is only a short trip for him from his little "working-week-apartment", but a drive of a little over 300kms on the Monday mornings, and the same again on the Friday nights... His good "ol'" Mercedes is getting older and older with this (as in "upping the mileage"), too...
