View Full Version : A Harbour With No Name

This panorama was shot in Portland (Oregon) back in January. For those familiar with the city, this is the view of the Marquam bridge from Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
No one I asked seemed to know if the harbour had a name, so I'm sticking with this title until someone proves it wrong :)

I know it's too centred; that's a sin I commit with most my panoramas. I just won't learn.

Thanks for looking!

Hey, how 'time limited'? I can't access it. :(
The shot is lovely! The arrangement and reflection of the clouds really makes the shot for me.

Ooops! Just made a settings change on my website. Can you see it in all its noisiness now? ;) (Thanks for the kind comments, btw...)

Nope, I still just get a screen that says 'contents protected by owner'

Mmm... I don't know what other settings to change... I can see it, even after logging out from my website. Hopefully others can see it too... Sorry, anty... Maybe refreshing the page?

Ahh well, my loss! The bigger version (vs full size) is still good to see

I can see it even in Riyadh (must be a first). I looked but I can't find the joins. The grain reminds me of some of the stuff John Claridge used to do in the 80's with (I think) C41 stock. Rather like the feel myself.

Ahh well, my loss!
I wouldn't go that far :)
Thanks anty and Chris, glad this one found an audience (albeit small).

It showed up for me! Beautiful view - I'm not at all thinking "it's too centered" when looking at it.
Thanks for posting.

Beautiful! The bits of blue sky are wonderful as is the reflection in the water. I don't think it is too centered.

Thanks very much, people :) I know this one is not very good, but I like it anyway and wanted to share...

I don't think it's too centered either. I think a panorama can break some of those photo rules because of its non-standard size ratio. I think its more important to have it balanced left to right (which yours is) so it does not look like it's tipping.
Excellent seeing! :)
