I have eaten salads, chicken and fish this week. The eagle took a dump in my bank account today and I'm thinking a prime rib (medium rare) with a sweet potato on the side is in order tonight...... preferably with a nice CabSav (or three) to wash it down.

Hope your Friday night is an eventful one.

We're gonna tee up a 1997 Lewis Cellars Reserve CS and a NY Strip tomorrow. A reward for eating like paupers this week...

Cheers!

...but my stent says no
I've been fortunate so far not to have the problems that my father and younger brother have with stents and bypass surgeries.

So anyway, I decided not to take the camera in the restaurant since it was quite a busy night. But the prime rib with sweet potato and CabSav was delicious. I sat between two couples at the corner of the bar (my preferred spot) and had a lively conversation. One couple was rather well off and well spoken, the other couple were very nice but would probably be pigeon holed as .....well, red neck. Just as my seating position, I'm somewhere in between.

I took a different route home for no good reason and a Fun Fair had sprouted in the parking lot of an abandoned grocery store. The turn out at this time of evening (not too late, around 9:00pm) was very thin. One of the carnies approached me inquiring why I was taking pictures. When I replied it was just for fun, we engaged in conversation. Apparently, this traveling carnival, in various incarnations, have been around for 100 years.

However, it was slow for them.

The only guy getting any sense of traffic was on the "SCAT". Kinda like the Tilt-A-Wheel, if I remember correctly..... been years since I've been on a ride.

Even with the blowouts, I like the feel of this shot.

So, did any of you have a reasonable Friday night?

It's definitely a bit blown, but somehow with this shot it's okay - at least, it's not bothering me any. I'm guessing the man to the left of the ride effectively pulls the eye away and gives it the fun factor. It looks cool.

Fun series, for off the cuff shooting!

Our Friday night was pizza and wine. Walked the pug early and just vegged after what seemed like a looong week.

Apparently I am in for a nice dinner tonight, if Rolleimaniac makes it to the store.

Chris: a stent?

I went to my niece's 18th birthday/'debut'. It was a hoot, actually. Funny to watch the teenage boys and girls interact during the dancing ('kids nowadays'). I also got a kick out of the fact that virtually all the music seemed to be from the 80s, and they all knew it. Good food, good time. I had been at a pricey fundraiser gala the night before, but had more fun at the much smaller/informal birthday party

Yep, 17 May 2006 at the age of 44 - it came as a bit of a surprise shall we say...

Welcome to the club, Chris! I've had mine for ... it will be 11 years on November 11th! Mine was not exactly a planned event either! hahaha :heart: But all is well with it. Hope the same is true for you!

I like that last shot. Looks like he is looking into some sort of time-travelling maelstrom!

I think that this picture is begging to be cropped down....crop on the left the person/flag - top, just under the sign...On right, capture as much blown out light to compose...bottom crop to compose.

The guys hair being blown backwards is PERFECT. This is sooo a "they're coming" moment OR maybe a LOST energy flash.

I agree with your crop idea, Brad, but I would sorely miss those rapidly moving 'fish' in the top that would disappear with the crop of the top. I would PS out the sign. (Bwhahahaha) ;)

I would crop the left up to behind the man, the bottom to the top of the striped 'thingy' and the right to create a square. :big grin:

Hm... why do I keep looking at things as perfect square shots??? :raisedbrow: I better haul out the Hassy.

One of those carvinals has set up shop near my house and i hope to get out both one evening and hopefully this afternoon if the weather clears up.
i have an IR project going with these places.

a real challenge as there seems to be so many things jammed into such a small area. clutter everywhere.

Yeah... don't you think it would be a much better thing if they'd have these things, but keep those blasted people out of there?? hahaha :lol:
And spred things out a little for pete's sake!!!

Can't wait to see some of your pics from this! :goodvibes:

Always wanted to own one, and probably would have pulled the trigger, but the darn thing would like to be married to a lens! OUCH!!! :big grin:
