The sort of image 2 1/4 sq 12 on 120 it produced back in the 1950's when I was doing the rounds of Surrey and Kent on my bike sketching and brass rubbing. Developed in Microfen as far as I remember in a blacked out bathroom in my parent's house. Must have fixed it well as the negatives are all still OK fifty years on! Scanned in my Epson 4490.

Looks to be in superb shape! And as you say, the negatives sure stood the test of time too!

I have promised myself that, one of these days, I will get myself an MF camera and will set up an enlarger again. The smell of the fix, once experienced, never quite leaves you.

Beauty! I love the feel of the Rolleiflexes. I have a 3.5 Planar and a 3.5 Xenar, the latter in a little better shape and shooting well.

Glad the first posting in the "Aged" section provoked some interest. Anybody else still got their first cameras?
I still have the set of filters and manual for the Rolei as well as the bracket with a "D" handle for eye level viewing . . . These were used for action photography at the 1948 and '52 Olympics by the look of it in old films of the events as well as being the standard fare of wedding photographers before the Hassablad and Bronica took over. I found it a bit bulky when on my trips and usually carried my Zeiss Nettar (my first new camera in 1953). Again 12 on 120 and still working. Will our modern digital camaras still be OK to use in 55 years time? . . . Those cameras along with my Canon A1 are part of my life and I can't bear to clear them out, something for my executors to do when I am gone!
