1 hours walk from my house, or 10 minutes in the car. Howth Peninsula, north county Dublin. 25 minutes by train from the city centre and not known at all by most tourists who miss out on the cliff walks, the harbours, the fishing boats, seals, great restaurants and great traditional live music....

Now look at that sky! Wow. If there's ever been DRAMA up there, it's been when you went to Howth. (I might mention that back in 1990 I was in Howth, being a tourist... ;) - we didn't do much cliff climbing, though, travelling with a one-year-old as we were at the time...).

There's a certain something about the Irish Sea that can only produce an image like this. Unfortunately, my bit of the coast line North of Blackpool doesn't have such a dramatic structure as this, but the cloud base I recognised immediately.
