I took this in color, turned into monochrome and played a bit with the curves in PS.

Ok. I like the processing and tones. And I'll take a chance and be the first to say it, but it took me awhile to figure out how to say it without sounding like my grandfather; looks like little drops of bird poop.

An odd subject.

Reminds me of something a zoologist buddy told me once, and I've never forgot it.

When I first got into this nature stuff I was amazed. My friend told me biology gets very detailed. No one knows it all, everyone tends to specialize. Biologists, zoologists, microbiologists, ornithologists, etc, so on, so forth... Take ornithologists for example. Some study raptors, some scavengers, some this, some that, and some that specialize in just parts of those. A person studies the generalities and finds their way into their speciality. I just sort of sat there listening--I never thought,...

He continued, "Everything has a name and everything with a name has parts and all the parts have names. It goes on and on."

He said, "Here's an example." There it was, a little spot of bird poop on the bench between us.

"See that bird poop?"

"Yep", I replied.

"You know what that white stuff is around it?"

"Nope."

"It's more bird poop."
