These shots are from a snow storm we had in late December 2008. This forum got me kicked in the butt enough to get the film developed. I don't trust my scanner (need a new one) so I took shots of the photos with my digigizmo.
The first one is in the parking lot at the Temple of Sinawava in Zion National Park.. In fact all are from Zion.
The second one is the start of the Angels Landing trail.
The third one is the Great White Throne in the middle of a gentle snow fall.
The fourth is just some iciciles that hung on a rock face in the upper section of Zion.
he last one is also taken in the parking lot at the Temple of Sinawava

Ok these are the last three shots to try and lure Terri and Brad this way. Should I tell them that it is only a half hour drive from my house to get to the park? I can see it from my backyard.
The first one is just one of the random side canyons in the upper section of Zion.
The second one is just what a typical rock face looks like standing back cross the road from it in the upper section of Zion.
This tree was also shot at the Temple of Sinawava. A funny story goes with that parking lot. I drug Dan along with me once when it snowed. I had my LF camera out and he had my digigizmo in hand trying to play photographer. He stood under one of the trees lining up a shot when all of a sudden he screamed out. I turned and he was covered in snow up to his knees. The tree had let loose with all the built up snow and dumped it on him. His comment to me was "Damn tree crapped on me" I was laughing to hard to think to grab the shot of him in the pile of snow.

Stunning! There is something so magical about snow against the red rocks. Thank you for sharing these with us!

Careful or you may lure all of TPB to your house! ;) I'm about 6 hours away. :big grin:

Aggie, these are so wonderful. I especially love the misty view of the Great White Throne.
I think the latest in the year I've been to Zion was early November. We flew out to Las Vegas on Halloween and drove through town, which was a treat by itself. Crazy Vegas-goers. We drove straight through (little over 2 hours) and arrived at pre-dawn - exhausted but wired, it was a thrill to be back. We brought insulated rubber socks so we could wade along the Narrows...didn't get too far, too scared to fall in at those temps. brrrr!!!

Nice work, Aggie. If you're not careful, you'll be hosting Steve and me out in Utah, as well as Brad and Terri.

Denna come on out. I'll host anyone even those who live only 6 hours away. Once I'm able to get out and hike better, I have to settle for those shots from the road.

Well, for pete's sake! I don't want to miss the party! I'll even bring my own 'sherpa'! hahaha :hail:
I love that first shot! It looks so strange with the red rocks, the shades of gray and the white. Almost sort of cross-processed or something. Cool!

These red rock photos are akin to placing a hot biscuit in front of a hound dog! We’re gonna bow down to the Great White Throne again one day and I can’t wait!!
Thanks for torturing me…slap me around some more if you wish.

Lovely images. I like how MissMia put it...there's such magic/beauty in the snow on the red rocks. Lucky you, to live so close to this park!
Beautiful images, its a dream of mine to one day photograph some of the national parks in America.
