That is where the photographers skills make the difference in the photo. I wish my prime got that close.

And that's on the 1DIII, imagine if it were on a cropped sensor like the 40D or 50D. All you'd have in frame is the beak! :mrgreen:

must birds of prey are ringed in the UK, its so they can monitor numbers and learn a bit more about them.
This is a captive bird but even wild ones have all sorts of tags and rings

I like the framing in the second image - wonderful sense of majestic movement and for once the solid frame suits the image. What was the prime lens used?

You know I still have my old Sigma 70-300mm macro lens - we could trade lenses you know if your after a zoom. ;)
