i would put them in a binder of somekind, check out printfile.com under folio. very simple but elegant way to present work. the over all size should be the same, altho, the image size may vary. You don't want the judge to be juggling print sizes, it is a sure sign of an amauter and a fast turn off.

check with your printer and find out what they are using. if these are not inkjet prints, then they are a wet process. just call them or email and ask.

they could be c prints, or ilford chromes, but if the latter you would be using slides. it will make a more professional presentation if they are id correctly.

Printfile.com looks like an excellent resource. I'm thinking a 9x12 presentation book for 8x12 prints (I hope that's not sloppy). The print process is probably inkjet (I will check), and there is a note further down in the submission requirements regarding having the submitted image on the same type of paper that the framed print will be on.

Thank you both. I was trying to be sarcastic, and thinking it over, the nice lady handling the submissions was being honest and not condescending in any way. My cynicism was uncalled for.

A couple weeks later I recieved a phone call from the director, who invited me out to turn me on to a few parts of Joshua Tree National Park that he feels are entirely overlooked by photographers. He likes my style and felt I could do them justice. It may be April though before I can get out there.

Last month I had 4 photos in the feature article for February's, Los Angeles Magazine feature article printed. A 1,600 mile trip visiting scenic sights and points of interest in the Mojave.

This morning I recieved an email from the publisher of a regional magazine I hold in high regard, asking if I'd like to contribute covers and/or stories. He sits on the board for the art show I was rejected from. So now I'm thinking they weren't kidding when they said, "Maybe next year."

I think these will be great relationships to cultivate and am looking forward to it all.
